On the slopes of the Maluti Mountains and overlooking the spectacular Katse Dam in the Lesotho Highlands, the Orion Katse Lodge commands spectacular views in all directions. Katse Lodge is situated within the Katse village, walks can be arranged for visitors to explore and experience the local Khokhoba (Katse) Village where guests will also have the opportunity to experience the taste of Basotho village life.

Known as 'The Kingdom in the Sky', all of Lesotho lies over 1000 meters above sea-level, and it is a very mountainous land, criss-crossed by hundreds of rivers that offer some excellent freshwater fishing.; The terrain also makes it a popular destination for keen hikers, mountain-bikers, 4x4 enthusiasts and horse riders. The country is entirely landlocked within South Africa, is sparsely populated and its people are recognized for their distinctive conical hats and friendly demeanor.

Guests visiting Katse Lodge may enjoy a traditional Basotho pony ride, giving guests a traditional and natural way to explore the natural splendour that surrounds Katse Lodge. Boat cruises can be arranged at the reception.

Katse Lodge offers guests the opportunity to photograph the well-known Katse dam as well as its beautiful surroundings.

Katse Lodge offers guests the option of a la Carte as well as sumptuous buffets meals. The Lodge Restaurant, Deck and Bar have splendid views of Katse Dam and its tranquil surroundings. 

Katse Lodge is surrounded by many fishing options: streams, rivers and dams.There are a multitude of opportunities available for the more adventurous fisherman and a fishing license, although required, can be arranged through Katse Lodge or LHDA.
